Located within Shepherd’s Yard, one of the Estate’s dedicated commercial units, is full-time ceramicist Ralph Jandrell. An incredibly skilled and disciplined craftsman, Ralph has been creating stunning pieces of pottery for well over 25 years, producing distinctive, unique pieces which reflect his skills and years of expertise.
Working entirely from his studio space in Chirbury, Ralph draws inspiration from the stunning views of Shropshire and surrounding areas. His table lamps, chargers and mugs are akin to owning a piece of landscape art. With countryside motifs such as leaves, brambles, trees, foxes and deer, abstractly presented in moody greens and blues, each piece hand-painted by Ralph is entirely unique.
From ideation to finished product, Ralph is a one-man operation. Based in Chirbury since 2014, he spends the summer months travelling across Britain to trade shows and markets, and his pieces are sought after by interior designers nationwide.
Ralph warmly welcomes members of the local community to visit his studio and browse his latest creations in his on-site showroom.
In addition to selling his stunning pieces of art from his studio in Chirbury, Ralph offers space for up to 4 people at a time to learn the skills and techniques of making pottery through his hands-on courses. With a variety of course levels to choose from these sessions make fantastic gifts for those after a tangible experience or simply curious about the process of shaping clay. ..
