As part of our sustainable woodland management practices, we source and sell quality air-dried hardwood logs directly from our Estate. A by-product of our woodland thinning operations, these seasoned logs provide a sustainable way to warm your home or business and are available for collection or delivery within 10 miles of the Welshpool area.
Using a mix of predominately Ash, Beech and Oak trees grown on the Estate, all of our hardwood timber is cut and split right here at the Powis Estates Sawmill in Welshpool. We then allow the logs to dry out naturally, producing high-quality seasoned logs.
Supplied in a choice of 9″ or 12” lengths to suit your needs, we also offer custom length logs for sale when ordering a full load of six bags.
Sourcing sustainable firewood all starts with our woodland management practices. A by-product of our woodland thinning operations, this gives younger trees the opportunity to thrive and diversifies the age of our woodlands while producing firewood to heat your home or business.
Sourcing a variety of Ash, Beech and Oak, the logs are then transported back to our firewood processor located at the Powis Estates Sawmill in Welshpool. This is where we process them using our electric firewood processor, which is powered by solar panels on the barn roof.
The bagged firewood is then stored for a few more months inside the barn so that it reaches optimum moisture levels to burn efficiently and is ready for purchase.

Deliveries are available for orders of 2-6 bags thereafter within 10 miles of the Welshpool area (SY21). If you are based further afield, please get in touch to discuss options.
All of our firewood deliveries are made by a small HGV with a crane, so please confirm access is available when placing your order. We schedule our deliveries fortnightly for either a Monday or Tuesday, but unfortunately cannot guarantee specific delivery days unless we confirm otherwise.
